Super-Simple Hairstyles For Curly Hair
One of the greatest things about naturally curly or curled hair is that it looks oh-so voluminous, bouncy and alive whether it’s up or down. And what’s even more awesome is if you want to make the best of all that bountiful beauty, it doesn’t have to take you hours. With a little finessing, the right products and a few styling pointers, you’ll discover the best hairstyles for curly hair can be a result of minimal effort and little to no heat damage.
Whether you were born with curls or are mimicking waves with an iron or perm, here are five styles to try for days when you’re on-the-go (or simply not in the mood to put in much work)!
Style #1: Define Your Natural Curls

Sometimes, the obvious is truly the best choice. If you have naturally curly hair, the best (and easiest) hairstyle is to define the shape of your curls -- but there’s a neat trick that can help them look even more delicious.
Instead of using just one product (or none), mix two or three products together that work best for your styling needs (e.g. dryness, lack of shape, etc.). One of our favorite hairstyling cocktails is hydrating oil plus mousse. This combination will provide your hair with a shiny, moisturizing boost while shaping and defining your curls. Another great combination is coconut oil with a light styling gel. Together, these products allow for supreme hold without leaving your hair dry or crunchy.
Go through your hair section by section, working in your customized cocktail with your hands. Twirl sections of hair with your fingers to enhance the natural shape of the curls, focusing on the hair around your face.
Style #2: Easy Side Braid

This simple hairdo is perfect when you want to avoid excessive heat styling. This gorgeous side-swept look takes just a few minutes to complete and looks chic without requiring any additional heat damage. If you're starting with wet hair, apply a curl-enhancing wave spray, scrunch through damp hair then let air dry. If your hair is already dry, simply add some texturizing spray to your curls and your foundation will be set. Next, part your hair to how it normally falls. Grab a section of hair on one side of your head and braid toward the middle of your head and stop when you’ve reached a place you want your braid to end. After braiding toward the back of your head (or wherever you want the braid to stop) pin the section of hair to secure the style before pulling top layers of your hair over it so the pins are camouflaged by your curly hair. Voilà! You've got runway-worthy locks.
Style 3: Braided Half Bun

We love this sleek braided half-bun hairstyle for curly hair! Start by parting the top half of your hair at your temples. Next, divide your hair into two sections. The sections can be as wide as you want them to be, depending on your preference. Braid each section and pull back toward the middle of your head, right before where you would normally style your bun. Next, pull it into a ponytail. Secure each braid with bobby pins. Next, loosely twist your ponytail until it coils into a bun, wrapping it around the base of your elastic and securing it with bobby pins or an extra hair tie. Accessorize your bun with a silky scrunchie or decorative barrettes. Don’t forget to blast your roots with a finishing spray before you head out the door.
Style 4: Boho Braid

We’ve all been there. You wake up, look at the alarm clock and realize you have about ten minutes to get out of the door. This style is perfect for bedhead. Leave some curls out around your face and loosely braid the rest of your hair. Take a curling iron (if time permits!) and touch up the curls around your face and you have an effortless look in little to no time at all.
Style 5: Low Pony With Headscarf
